There is significant growth in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Design fields with a shortage of qualified people to fill these positions. There is a major demand for STEMD-certified professionals, which means continuing education beyond high school to gain skills and knowledge for a rewarding career is a must. The introduction of STEMD in secondary education is extremely beneficial to students because it provides them with an outlet to explore a vast array of careers. The STEMD Academy will provide students with an avenue to explore the many areas of STEMD to find an area of study they feel passionate about. Our goal is to prepare students for higher education with the necessary 21st century skills to succeed in the real world. We will do this by implementing some of the latest technologies throughout the STEMD courses such as 3D printers, 3D scanners and the latest in design software.
